What's the difference between ordinary paints and epoxy resin paints?

Painting is widely used in surface treatment industry. Because of its excellent performance and varieties suitable for different occasions, epoxy resin paints are currently widely used, such as plastic products, wood products and metal products.

What's the difference between ordinary paints and epoxy resin paints?

1) Application range of epoxy paint:

Epoxy paint is mainly suitable for use on some floors that require anti-slip effect and wear resistance

  • 1. Large-scale workshops for electronics, electrical, hardware, machinery, etc.
  • 2. Chemical, pharmaceutical and other laboratories.
  • 3. Food, textile, supermarket, parking lot and other places.

2) The difference between epoxy paint and ordinary paint is as follows:

Adhesion: Epoxy paint is the paint with the best adhesion among the current paints. It is suitable for workpieces with epoxy paint. The painted paint is very firm and not easy to fall off. The adhesion of epoxy paint to steel, cement, glass steel, galvanized steel and other materials is greater than that of ordinary alkyd, nitro and other paints, and is also better than most topcoat varieties.

Alkali resistance: Epoxy paint has good alkali resistance, it can be used not only as an alkali-resistant primer for concrete and walls, but also as an anti-corrosion topcoat for indoor alkaline corrosion. (each has a special variety); the anti-alkali performance is not available in ordinary paints such as alkyd and nitro paints.

Paint film strength: Epoxy paint film is tough, impact-resistant, wear-resistant, tough, and has good bending resistance. It is suitable for coating of mining machinery, engineering facilities, etc. that are frequently rubbed, impacted, and stone-struck. These properties of alkyd and nitro are not as good as epoxy paint.

Compatibility: Epoxy primers can be matched with mainstream mid-to-high-end topcoats such as chlorinated rubber paints, acrylic polyurethane paints, and fluorocarbon paints, while alkyd paints and nitro paints are not compatible or suitable.

Functionality: Epoxy paints are versatile. For example, epoxy sealing primer for wall and ground anti-alkali sealing coating, epoxy zinc-rich primer for steel structure anti-corrosion and anti-rust primer, epoxy light gray primer for glass steel, for Epoxy white primer for metal paint primer, epoxy primer for fluorocarbon exterior wall coating system, alkali-resistant sealing primer, epoxy floor paint for floor paint coating, etc. Epoxy coal tar pitch paint for anti-corrosion coating of underground pipelines, etc.

Solvent resistance: including resistance to alcohol, gasoline, engine oil, kerosene, hydraulic oil and other oil solvents. Epoxy paint is far superior to ordinary paints such as alkyd and nitro. Epoxy paint can be used for oil tanks and hydraulic equipment interior coating.

Moisture resistance: Epoxy paint is resistant to heat and humidity, and is suitable for paint coating in humid air, underwater, sewage and other environments.
